Scheduled Volunteer Opportunities!
During the year, our Volunteerism Committee organizes volunteer opportunities with many of the our grantees, typically where groups of 4-12 (depending on the need) of our Members volunteer for several hours to help with specific needs. We let our Members know of those opportunities by email as they occur.
In addition, several organizations have already scheduled some group times for volunteers:
Avery's Creek Elementary
- Opportunity: 12 volunteers are needed to help teachers prepare instruction materials for their classrooms. Basic tasks involve cutting and sorting the math games/curriculum that are printed on card stock.
- When: The 3rd Wednesday of each month from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. on the following dates this spring: January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15 and May 20.
- Where: Avery's Creek Elementary School, 15 Park South Blvd in Arden (off of Brevard Road across from our main gate).

Avery's Creek Elementary is also looking for volunteers to work one-on-one with students in academic areas of need. The timeframe is flexible as the school evaluates student needs. Please reach out to Michelle Schwartz at Avery's Creek Elementary (828-654-1810) if you can help!
Food Connection
- Opportunity: 4-6 volunteers are needed to help pack meals.
- When: The 1st Thursday and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 11AM - 1:00 PM.
