Our Board of Directors is comprised of Members who volunteer their time and expertise to serve our Mission and our Members.

The members of our Board are nominated by a Nominating Committee of two or more Board members and elected by our Board for two year terms. Some of the criteria we consider in selecting candidates include:
- We seek to have a gender balance on the Board, as well as a balance of diversity in Member activities, views and experiences that reflects the whole of our membership
- Directors of the Board may serve two consecutive two-year terms.
- We take into account the succession needs for appointing officers of the Board when considering candidates (especially for the Treasurer positions).
- We believe that Board members should generally come from active Committee Members; although not a hard and fast rule, the ideal path of leadership would be: WCMA Member, Committee member, Committee Vice chair, Committee chair, Board member.
Our officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Co-Treasurers) are selected by our Board from its members to serve one year terms.
