Our Whistleblower Policy
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITY
It shall be the responsibility of all Directors, Officers, and paid or volunteer staff to report concerns about the legality or ethics of WCMA activities to the WCMA Board Chair or any Board member.
NO RETALIATION
It is contrary to the values of the WCMA to retaliate against anyone who in good faith reports a suspected violation of this organization’s policies, a suspected violation of law, a suspected fraud, or a suspected violation of any regulation governing the work of the WCMA. Anyone who retaliates against someone who has reported a violation in good faith is subject to appropriate corrective action.
ACTING IN GOOD FAITH
Anyone filing or reporting a legal or ethical concern must have reasonable grounds for believing that the reported information indicates a violation. If so, that person is protected by the No Retaliation section above.
HANDLING OF REPORTED VIOLATIONS
All reports will be promptly investigated, and appropriate corrective action will be taken if warranted by the investigation. The complainant will be informed that follow-up has or is occurring two weeks after the Board Chair or board member has received the complaint.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Upon the request of the complainant, WCMA will use its best and appropriate efforts to protect the confidentiality of the complainant for any good faith report.
